ANZAC day

You paid with your lives to give us ours.

Even if you came back.

Lest we forget.

Doctors and nurses

Having flatted with a woman that completed a PhD, I know how lengthy and emotional the process is, so whenever I hear about a Doctorate being given to a person, I can't help but being really quite bemused.

When I heard about former Prime Minister Helen Clark being given a Doctor of Laws degree by Auckland University, I was at two minds.

Firstly, I guess she did hold the "top job" of New Zealand and if anyone is given a Doctorate, I guess the EX-PM is probably a good choice.

But secondly, I feel the practice makes an absolute mockery of an institution that acknowledges an extraordinary and exceptional level of endeavor and education.

Given her plethora of "alledged" crimes... a Doctorate of LAWS? Are you kidding me??????

One thing is well beyond opinion:

IT IS CONSIDERED BAD FORM AND HIGHLY MISLEADING TO PUT "DR" BEFORE YOUR NAME IF YOU WERE GIFTED THAT DEGREE!

We'll wait and see on that one; given her academic background, she would certainly know that convention.

Toadie alert

A little background: Helen Clark has been appointed as the 3rd in charge of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and there is also a United Nations sponsered anti-racism conference being held at Geneva, Switzerland.

New Zealand, along with several other nations, boycotted the conference in which the opening address was given by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In the speech Ahmadinejad bitterly complained that Israel is a blatent & consistently racist state, ignoring the many abuses of his own country. The speech by Ahmadinejad prompted a "walk-out" by many more of the conference attendees.

Dutch immigrant Joris de Bres is New Zealand's race relation concilliator, he was appointed by Helen Clark in 2002 and has a contract that lasts until 2012. Having read his indulgent (and wordy) website, it is clear that the idea of belonging to a cult is deeply imbeded in his psychi, with H1 & H2 becoming of his "Holy Spirit". As with nearly all Helengrad appointees, he is an ex-unionist and so left he can hardly walk in a straight line

Rather than following the wishes of his adopted country, de Bres attended the conference and delivered a speech that critisised the boycotting nations.
"Mr McCully and Mr de Bres have clashed before in the courts over a speech Mr de Bres gave in 2002 comparing the cultural vandalism of the Taleban in Afghanistan with the colonisation of New Zealand."
It's pretty obvious that the former PSA secretary is trying to curry favour (pun intended) with mobile Helengrad, so he can get a job with her nice new New York office. Maybe the ex-clergyman wants to head the church of helen?

Far be it from me to tell Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Murray McCully what to do, but in my opinion he needs to silence the tulip puncher... and quickly... it is one thing to be controversial, it is another thing embarrassing an entire country.

Telephones found to be too complicated for Featherdusterans

FEATHERSTON

Police were seeking information about 12Year old Teegan LEIGH who has been missing from her home in Featherston since 6am today. Teegan was located safe and well at about 6.30pm at a relatives house in Wainuiomata.

They must have been short of news (or clues).

Firstly - Do people from Wainuiomata have telephones? Apart from in the local WINZ office that is.

Secondly - Featherston? If I was staying there, it would only be because I wanted to try cryogenics.

Thirdly - Doesn't Mallard have something useful to do, like scraping bubble gum from underneath office desks.

Whaleoil would point to Silly First Name Syndrome... but is it really silly district syndrome?

Na na, na na...

NZ Racism conference

The Green party are to invite the fascist National Front to deliver the keynote speech at the upcoming bi-partisan conference on racism, organised by the Greens - undisclosed sources reveal.

However; The speech is to contain references to the Jewish people in New Zealand that is racist, blaming "the great evil" of the National party for funding & promoting Israeli exaggeration of the holocaust.

National, Act, the Moari Party & United Future have all agreed to boycott the conference

MP Keith Locke stated, "For goodness sake, the opening speech is only a small part the conference, they [the boycotting parties] should be happy to be associated with such a cool conference man... Ahmed will be there... ".

On a related issue, a Labour party insider disclosed:

"At the conference we have agreed to attack National for being election promise breakers, buying the election, causing the global financial crisis and shooting JFK".

The source went on to state:

"We will also link the hypocrisy of downsizing the IRD with saving money - how will less paying for less public servants save money"?

Also adding:

"... Helen is now running the UN... and Ahmed will be there...".

Vidi Vini Vietchie

My opinion:

Neither Vietch nor his Ex are innocent; as is often the case with domestic violence.

Tony's was missing something, he should have added, "I am totally contrite, the PR campaign to smear my Ex was a form of love... much like my kick was".

To quote Graham Hill, "Who hit whom"?
